What is a case?
A case is a physical display, binder or box laid out as a grid. Each slot is a scannable location, so you can find a card when you need it.
Create the case
- After shop setup, the first-case walkthrough can open when your shop has no cases. Choose Make my first case. If you skipped it, open Cases and choose Create a case to start at the naming step. You need owner or admin write access.
- Enter a Case name, such as “Front glass case”. The Showcase, Binder, Storage box and Show table suggestions are shortcuts; you can use your own name. Choose Choose layout.
- Pick Showcase 4 × 6, Binder page 3 × 3, Storage box 1 × 10, or Custom. Adjust Rows and Columns to match your storage and check the live grid preview.
- Review Slots per spot. It starts at 1; increase it if your storage needs more capacity at each spot. The walkthrough accepts 1–50 rows and columns, up to 1,000 grid slots in total.
- Choose Create case. Once the ready screen appears, choose Add your first card to open Intake with this case selected, or Go to dashboard.
If creation is interrupted
If QRTCG says “Creation status is unknown. Check Cases before trying again.”, open Cases first. The request may have completed even though its response did not reach your device. Check for your case before creating another one.
Once the case exists, you can add cards through Intake or place a CSV import into it.
